This month, we are kicking off a regular segment highlighting some of the students who have been working with us. This month, we are highlighting Anna Henson, a student at Michigan State University College of Law, who has been working with SEDRS since the fall of 2021.

One of the takeaways from this experience that Anna says she will carry with her is to “see the person facing the issue, not just the problem itself.” She she learned that “when faced with disagreement between parties, identify the real issue/stakes for each person involved. What is driving them to hold on? Once you identify that, you can start talking about meaningful and lasting solutions.”

After finishing up her degree and time with SEDRS, Anna plans to join her dad in practicing civil law in Oklahoma. In her spare time, Anna enjoys reading, hiking and backpacking, and horseback riding.
