Internships
The externship/internship at Southeastern Dispute Resolution Services will provide an opportunity for undergraduate students from a wide range of majors and law students to obtain training and certifications in mediation, conflict resolution, and restorative justice techniques. Depending on the level of time investment available, students will be able to practice ADR (alternative dispute resolution) skills in various settings including mediating civil and domestic disputes and facilitating restorative practices in schools.
In addition, the participants will have the opportunity to attend policy and community collaborative meetings. These added experiences will offer the students a chance to be involved in local policy initiatives and work to implement best practices in a variety of environments.
The externship and/or internship can include a written component, should the educational institution require it, but each student can tailor an experience that will match their personal passions or interests as best SDRS is able.
