Approved by the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) per MCR 3.216, this 48-hour training will teach the skills necessary to mediate divorce, parenting time and custody, asset division, relationship dynamics, and other domestic relations issues. Through interactive lessons, group activities, and roleplays, this training will equip you with skills to neutrally and effectively mediate domestic relations situations. Through the guidelines of the B.A.D.G.E.R process participants will learn how to set the appropriate environment for facilitative mediation, expertly listen, reflect, and reframe, communication to maintain balance and equity among the parties, facilitate a constructive conversation around identified issues and needs, while remaining neutral and objective. Participants will learn about the appropriate use of Caucus and how to identify items for an agreement and to clarify those items for desirability, achievability, enforceability, and sustainability.

This training will include an 8-hour Domestic Violence Screening training led by SCAO-approved trainer Megan McCoy.
